The weather is starting to warm up, and snow is beginning to melt. As spring shows up here in Tioga, we are gearing up at City Hall for a busy season full of many projects ranging from road construction to program implementations to the Tioga Dam Reconstruction Project breaking ground. We wanted to take the time to update you on the progress that has already started to unfold for the Tioga Dam Reconstruction Project behind the scenes here at City Hall. The Timeline updates from the engineer reports given from Moore Engineering at the Tioga City Commission Meetings.

Update Timeline

January 3, 2023

• Engineering Study and Report underway

February 6, 2023

• Wetland Evaluation will be completed during the 2023 Growing Season
• The engineer recommended completing a Class III Cultural Resources Management Survey, which will include a Class III Archaeological Survey & Report.

March 20, 2023

• City Attorney will review Cost Share Agreement with the State Water Commission.

April 3, 2023

• Once the snow is gone, work will continue forward.

Grant Funding

GARRISON DIVERSION CONSERVANCY DISTRICT – $24,000

ND FORESTRY SERVICE GRANT -$1,500

Trees have been ordered; this leads to a larger grant we could be eligible for up to $20,000 

STATE WATER COMMISSION COST SHARE GRANT -$115,800

• The state will pay for 60% of the feasibility study in the amount of $115,800
• This will lead to another grant to help with the construction

HERITAGE FOUNDATION GRANT – $200,000
